One Key is not working
• Remove the Key cap
• Pour drops of IPA and gently tap 3 or 4 times.
• Open the Keyboard and check for Dry Soldering and Re-solder the points.
• Check for continuity of all the tracks running through the key which is not working.
• Lay the tracks or jumper the points, if any tracks are found to be cut. (If it is a Membrane
KBD, draw the tracks using a Conductive Ink pen)
• Check the functioning of the Key switch and replace it if found faulty.
A group of Keys is not working
• Open the Keyboard and trace the common line for the group of keys which are not
working.
• Check for Dry Soldering and Re-solder those points.
• Check for continuity of all the tracks running through the group of keys which are not
working.
• Lay the tracks or jumper the points, if any tracks are found to be cut.
Keyboard is not getting sensed
• Check for loose connections of the KBD connector with the PC and fix it properly.
• Confirm whether the problem is on the PC side or Keyboard side by swapping the
Keyboard in a working PC.
• Open the Keyboard and check the continuity of each wire of the Interface Cable.
• If found open or short, cut the cable at the Keyboard side and check the continuity again.
• If it is OK, solder the cable directly to the Keyboard Connector.
• If the Cable continuity is found OK, still Keyboard is not detecting, the KBD Controller
might be Faulty
